I don't profess to be an expert, but I just love yarn and creating beautiful things!
ABOUT ME

discover your inner granny

Hello and welcome to Yarn By The River.

I have always been a crafty person with a love of anything to do with creating beautiful things. From a young age, I have been influenced by the beautiful women in my life to sew, knit, crochet, macrame. I have also been influenced by the loving men in my life to revive the old back to it's former glory or for use in other ways.

I am a mum of two and a teacher by trade, and as many working mum's will tell you, it's hard to find the time to do things for you. So, I made the time by purchasing this store in 2018. Some may say that it crazy, but it has actually stopped me from going crazy!

Yarn By The River as a business, started in the back room of a teacher colleague's home. As the business grew, it moved to it's current location at 93 East Street in the beautiful town of Narrandera in the Riverina region of NSW, Australia. It is a rustic craft boutique store stocking beautiful yarns from Australia and around the world. Along with beautiful yarns, I also stock knitting and crochet accessories, patterns and a huge selection of buttons to complete any project.

Recently I began stocking gorgeous gift cards from Pink Paddock Store. These cards are designed and printed in the border town of Echuca by the lovely, Kylie. I hope you will take the time to look through the selection and choose a card perfect for you loved ones.

I offer workshops for all ages and skill levels in knitting, crochet and macrame, so whether you are a beginner needing lessons, an intermediate wanting to learn something new or an experienced crafter just wanting to be inspired to start your next project, Yarn By The River is for you. It is the perfect place where you can be inspired to create your own beautiful pieces Check out our workshop page for more details about the current workshops on offer.

Regular Social Yarn-ing sessions allow you to take time to unwind and enjoy the company of others, as well as a beverage, whilst working on that project. I find that working with yarn is great for your mental health and encourage you to join our Social Yarn-ing sessions.

While these are set yarning sessions, I am happy for you to pop in at any time to come in store, sit for while, knit, crochet, macrame, chat, learn, share, shop, or just take in the beauty and enjoyment that yarn can bring.
